Moustache Pageant Photos, Video and Results

Ah, so the 2007 Marvel Moustache (eat it, Nick Lowe, I'm sticking with the "ou" spelling) Pageant has come and gone. It was one of the most entertaining events I've been privy to since joining the House of Ideas. And that's saying a lot. I've seen editors engage in hand-to-hand combat, gladiator-style, over brownies. They were good brownies, mind you, though it was still a little out of control. But I digress!
The Pageant kicked off, as one would expect, with the contestants parading into one of the Marvel conference rooms, displaying their soup-strainers to all in attendance. And by all, I'm sayin' there were quite a few on-lookers—it was a packed house. The standing-room only crowd hooted and hollered for all the moustachioed men. And while the lovely judging triumvirate debated over the outcome (Best, Worst, Most Creative), we tossed brand new Marvel.com Assistant Editor Ben Morse (he'd started just three days prior) into the fire to interview all the hirsute fellas.
Much respect goes to all who joined the fray: Nick Lowe, Aubrey Sitterson, Will Panzo, Mark Beazley, Cory Levine, Jordan White, Damien Lucchese, Jim Nausedas, Frank Rosner, Alejandro Arbona, Brad Johansen and Chris Allo. I can only imagine how harrowing October was for their friends, family and loved ones. I've pursued moustache nirvana before. It's a game no one wins.
But, alas, for one brief, shining day in October, three winners were crowned. Cory Levine, Assistant Editor in the Collections department, took top honors for his Tom Selleck-like 'stache. At the other end of the spectrum, Levine's fellow Collectioneer Mark Beazley was smacked with Worst Moustache (I would've given Worst to Sitterson, but you know what they say about opinions). Most Creative facial hair construction went to X-editor Nick Lowe for his quirky, striped look—much to the chagrin of Mr. Sitterson (watch the video and you'll see).
Oh, and due tribute was paid to Newsstand Circulation Manager Frank Rosner. The 'Stache-bearer for decades, Rosner was awarded with a Lifetime Achievement Award. When I say that there was nary a dry eye in the house when he accepted the award, there's a 50% chance that I'm not lying.
The festivities wrapped and less than a week later, nearly all remnants of the Pageant have been washed (and shaved) away. Fortunately, through the magic of "photography," we have everlasting memories of this hallowed event, posted below. Enjoy the video, marvel at the photos and look for an even more heated competition next year!
Wow! You all have SUITS!
