BEST MARVEL NEWS EVER.
2008-03-19 14:37:46
I work at Marvel for three reasons:

a. The office is 10 blocks from where I live. DC is, like, 23 blocks. WAY too far.
b. Because I work on HULK, I get to email Jeph Loeb and make fun of "Heroes" (even though I’ve never seen it).
c. MINI MARVELS.

When Mark Paniccia and MacKenzie Cadenhead made the horrendous mistake of hiring me as an editor, I made a list of projects I wanted to pitch and create.
#1 on the list was a monthly MINI MARVELS series. I soon realized that that’ll never happen, because MINI MARVELS creator Chris Giarrusso is way too busy, doing…I swear, I don’t have a clue what he does during the day. He’s usually in the car, driving…somewhere?
#2 on my list was to work on anything with Mike Wieringo. I got to do a little of that (not enough, though).
#3 on my list wasn’t a creative endeavor; it was just a decision to use my real talent (ANNOYANCE) to make sure Marvel made a collection of MINI MARVELS.

Giarrusso is one of the most brilliant minds working in comics today (when he works). He’s also nuttier than a fruitcake, and I do my very best to cultivate and grow his insanity. That’s why I hire him to write and draw whenever the mood strikes him. He’s my very favorite.
Why am I bothering you with this awkward amount of man-love? Because I could not be happier to announce that MINI MARVELS: ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS is coming out in JULY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here’s the ALL-NEW cover, complete with lettering that looks like marshmallows.

SHOW THE LOVE!!!!!!!!
Cool.
I think you've made a lot of people happy by breaking this news.

Awesome-ness
I think I will just have to go out and buy a copy. Maybe I'll even get a copy for my nephew. Doubling the sales per buyer may nudge the possibility for a monthly and glue back together those shattered dreams of yours Nate.

You just made my day.

Will this be new material? If not, how much of the previous stuff will it collect?

Regardless, I'll by a couple copies to pass onto friends and one for myself, and I'll pimp this on a site I write for! (ComicBookGazette.com, for those interested).

Chris G
This is great news! Chris G rocks, if you don't believe me just ask him, I am sure he will tell you the same thing.
Now if only you could talk him into doing a monthly comic, with your rivals having Tiny Titans out, this would be a great counter-comic for that book...Make Mine Mini-Marvels!
