Late X-Mas Present
2007-08-01 17:59:40

Not a whole lot of time for posting today, but as we've now announced THE TWELVE, the secret project that JMS and Chris Weston have been working on for some time (and from which I've been showing off assorted sneak peeks at the artwork), I can finally share with the public the X-Mas card Chris sent out this past holiday season, spotlighting America's new poster boy of the absurd, the Blue Blade!

Not only is the Blade an actual, genuine, 100% legitimate golden age character (who first appeared in USA Comics #5 in 1942), but he's also one of the few super heroes of the modern age secure enough in his manliness to wage his war on evil bare-chested and bare-legged!

More later.

first post!! yeah-a'hii-eyy!!
well, the x-mas card was so cool, so weird, so eerie, fascinating. and the cover of usa comics is interesting too, as an historical document.
well i would love to buy this new series but i can only afford to buy 4 comics per month ( of course all of them MARVEL, those are new iluminati and mighty avengers and WWH). The economical situation is critical in my country in general and in my house in particular.
the dolar here has a value of 3.5 soles ( the sol being the national money unit) and $2.99 comics here cost 15 soles (almost 5 bucks). The minimum wage here is 450 soles, you know money for all the month, just do the math boys.
Wish i would be in USA with a salary of say 3000 bucks per month, no doubt i would spent 100 bucks per month entirely in Marvel Comics.
Anyway as they say, someday baby someday...

Neat! Chris Weston is one of the nicest, maddest people I've ever met. It'd be great if you could buy that card off him and use it as a promotional item (given that 12 starts the month after Christmas).

The Twelve
I didn't have much interest in this project when I first saw the announcement but on a whim I read one of the articles on this particular series, which led me to read others, and I have been won over. I'm now very interested and very much looking forward to this series.

My question to you, Mr. Brevoort, is this - will these characters be available for use in the modern day Marvel Universe when this maxi series is over? Will this series place these golden age heroes into current continuity? I really, really hope the answer is yes.

???
Who are you talking about Rawnzilla? Didn't catch it.

Love the card, especially the toothy grin, like he KNOWS what is in those packages. Makes me laugh.
