Launched as a post-Civil War endeavor, the Initiative has sparked the creation of numerous new teams and has begun to restore trust in America's super heroes.
Following a flurry of tie-in titles, the Initiative continues on in AVENGERS: THE INITIATIVE, THE ORDER and THUNDERBOLTS
Spinning out of the blockbuster, universe-changing events of Civil War, comes the Initiative.
With the pro-registration side having won the Civil-War, Iron Man launched the Fifty State Initiative, aiming to place a government-backed superhero team in every state. The S.H.I.E.L.D.-coordinated campaign trains recruits for each super hero outfit at Camp Hammond in Stamford, Connecticut—the location of the cataclysmic events that brought about the Civil-War.
Transforming the perception and role of super humans across the nation, the Initiative has rocked the foundation of the Marvel Universe, calling forth a new era of superheroes.
