When the mysterious and powerful little green fella' known only as Doop falls into the hands of Russian terrorists—a plot which would turn him into a super-weapon—X-Statix turn to Earth's mightiest, the Avengers, to save their friend. Although the combined might of the celebrity mutant team and the world's premier superhero outfit defeat the Ruskies, Doop's brain explodes from a wound suffered during the rescue effort, sending glops of green super noggin all over the globe.
