Marvel's 2007 Harvey Awards Nominations

The nominees have been announced for the 2007 Harvey Awards and Marvel has been named in eight categories. Civil War leads the march with two nominations and many of Marvel's megastars including Ed Brubaker and John Cassaday walked away with nominations.

Congratulations to all of the nominees. The winners will be announced September 8 at the Baltimore Comic-Con.

The Harvey Awards are named in honor of the late cartoonist and editor Harvey Kurtzman, with the winners chosen by fellow creators.

Marvel's nominees for the 2007 Harvey Awards are:

Best Writer
- Ed Brubaker, Daredevil

Best Artist
- Stuart Immonen, Nextwave: Agents of HATE

Best Letterer
- Chris Eliopoulos, Franklin Richards

Best Inker
- Danny Miki, Eternals

Best Cover Artist
- John Cassaday, Astonishing X-Men

Best New Series
- Civil War

Best Continuing or Limited Series
- Daredevil

Best Single Issue or Story
- Civil War #1

The X-Impulse
When Kitty Pryde discovers her mutant ability to phase through objects, she's naturally frightened and confused. Life proves to be more difficult for Kitty when both Jean Grey and Lance Alvers, a.k.a. Avalanche, approach her. While Jean tries to recruit Kitty to Professor Xavier's Institute, Alvers has plans of his own. Meanwhile, Sabretooth, Wolverine's arch-nemesis, rolls into town and he's looking for a fight!
