That's right True Believers, Joe Quesada is back! But just what is MyCup O' Joe? And what does our illustrious Editor-In-Chief have planned for fans?
We've got the first comments from Joe right here:
I'm baaaaack!
Miss me?
I missed you!
Yup, sure did, True Believer. It's been several months since I've been back on the net answering all of your questions about the incredible goings on in the Marvel U and the world of comics and I've been suffering some serious withdrawals. I guess the only cure for my shakes is to get back on the saddle because over the last couple of years of doing a weekly column, I've grown addicted to the adrenalin rush of the Internet buzz, so, lets get some buzz going.
Ready? Drumroll!
I'd like to announce the return of my weekly column.
Yup!
On MySpace!!!!
That's right, you heard me, Marvel and MySpace are teaming up to bring you
MyCup O' Joe! In our never ending quest to expand the comics market and spread the good
word,
MySpace Comic Books will be the new home of my weekly Friday column.
Okay now, go ahead now, buzz at will.
Why MySpace? Well, quite simply it's because MySpace will offer us an audience and exposure like we've rarely seen in comics. So, not only will the comics gospel be spread universe wide, but you guys will be heard on a level unparalleled before in the history of the medium. So, be gentle ;-)
How will it work? I'm glad you asked. Pretty much the way it's worked in the past with my previous interviews and Q+A's. MySpace has procured established comics and sports journalist Jim McLauchlin to run the show. Jim will compose the weekly questions and will also accumulate questions posed by you, the fans, as well. Having Jim on board, and working for MySpace, will assure that I'll be getting hit with all the hard stuff and quite frankly, I'm already afraid. Also, for those of you in the know, Jim is the head of the
Hero Initiative charity so his love for this industry is obvious and beyond reproach.
Much like my previous Joe Fridays column, you'll get an opportunity to have your question answered.
While I'm at it and speaking of Joe Fridays, let me take this time to thank Matt Brady and the crew at Newsarama. I had a great time doing NJF and I think we did some fun stuff that helped generate a lot of buzz for the comics industry. I want to wish Matt and the crew all the best and nothing but success.
So, a new name, a new home, a larger audience, but all the same mayhem you've come to expect on Fridays. I think you cats are going to dig
MyCup O' Joe. And keep an eye open, because we're going to be announcing cool features from time to time that I think you'll will find loads of fun, like a little something I've been calling, "Our Video Letter of the Week." More on that soon.
Mark it on your calendars:
MyCup O' Joe, coming on March, 21, just a few short weeks from now.
See ya in the funny—ummm, funnynet?
