Thor may have just recently returned to Earth, but that doesn't mean he can sit out the Secret Invasion. So, this summer, ol' goldilocks strides into the scrum to aid the planet against the insidious Skrull attack.
Editor Warren Simons describes the book as a "fun, action-packed, three-issue series that will demonstrate why Thor is one of the greatest heroes and icons in the Marvel [Universe]. We'll also be exploring the remarkable nobility of Donald Blake, and seeing his—and Thor's—dedication and commitment to humanity. And we'll be smashing aliens in the head with a hammer."
Beyond the head smashing, Thor's role in the struggle poses a unique difficulty for the raiding aliens.
"While the Skrull infiltration has seemingly touched every corner of the Marvel Universe, the one variable that the Skrulls might not have seen coming is Asgard's sudden reappearance in the Marvel U," Simons explains.
While the details of this limited series remain largely under wraps, Simons can drop a little about who will be bringing the Norse God of Thunder back into the thick of the Marvel Universe.
"I can announce that Mr. Matt Fraction will be writing this three-issue series," reveals Simons. "I am really excited to have Matt on board, especially after the really awesome THOR: AGES OF THUNDER special he just wrote for us. We've also lined up an extraordinary artist, but we won't be making any announcements for a few weeks. So, on an [excitement] scale of 1 to 10, let's say [we are at] 100 even."

Not that I'm going to read it or anything, but I do think that Thor is needed in it. I mean, he'd be one helluva slayer of Skrulls. Ya know ?
