Digital Comics Creator Spotlight: Dan Slott
Before he returns to AMAZING SPIDER-MAN later this week, Dan Slott takes a trip down Spidey memory lane

Every week, we'll tap one creator to browse Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited and pick some of their favorite work from the expansive catalog. This time around: Dan Slott, the ongoing writer of AVENGERS: THE INITIATIVE who returns to AMAZING SPIDER-MAN this week.
"[SHE-HULK v1 #4] was the first time I got to write Spider-Man in a full length, mainstream Marvel Comic. And I wrote it like they might never let me near the character again! It's 22 pages of non-stop, full on, everything-but the-kitchen-sink, Spidery-goodness! Why mince words? It's a love letter, from me to Spidey. And somehow I got Marvel to foot the bill.
"It features the incredibly inventive art of Juan Bobillo, and a premise you've always wanted to see: Spider-Man sues the Daily Bugle!
"I'm very proud of every issue of the [SPIDER-MAN/HUMAN TORCH limited series]—all available here on Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited! But issue #3 is my favorite. Heck, it's probably my favorite comic I've ever worked on. It's got the return of the Spider-Mobile, commie super apes, J. Jonah Jameson in all his glory, and, of course, fruit pies, lots of fruit pies.
"Artist Ty Templeton knocked it out of the park, perfectly hitting every loopy beat, and, believe it or not, some surprisingly sad moments too.
"Those last two issues show off the wall-crawler's wacky side, but you and I know that when he has to, Spidey can kick some serious butt. So check him out [in AVENGERS: THE INITIATIVE #3 and] see what happens when you get on Spider-Man's bad side! This issue features the art of international superstar, Stefano Caselli, and the debut of the all-new Scarlet Spiders!
"I also wanted to give a shout out to my pal, the miraculous Marcos Martin. This week Marcos and I are kicking off a new storyline in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, "Peter Parker: Paparazzi." If you've never had the chance to see Marcos work his magic, you owe it to yourself to read his and writer Brian K. Vaughan's DR. STRANGE: THE OATH, one of the best limited series Marvel Comics has ever produced!"
