Every week we'll pick a handful of awesome comics from the thousands available through Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited. From creator spotlights to editor's picks and more, this'll be your spot to find something new and cool.
With Mark Millar's 1985 #3 hitting stands this week, we bring to you five digital comics published in that pivotal year, 1985. Relive the '80s by reading these classic stories on Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited now! FANTASTIC FOUR #285
Johnny Storm—he's fun-loving, hot-headed, admired by thousands, and loves being a super hero. But when a fan takes his admiration a step too far, how will Johnny cope with the circumstances? The answer to that question may surprise you, as we see a different side of the Human Torch in this story brought to you by the legendary John Bryne.
DAREDEVIL #219
People are strange when you're a stranger, as the Man Without Fear finds out when he wanders into Broken Cross, New Jersey. This self-contained story by veteran DD scribe Frank Miller and Marvel artistic luminary John Buscema tells a story of a good town gone bad. Follow our stranger in this tragic tale as he tries to clean things up.
THOR #353
Surtur of Mespelheim, the Lord of Flames, stands in front of the Eternal Flame, housed in Asgard, at the cusp of achieving absolute power. Odin lays frozen in primordial ice, Thor has been leveled flat by Surtur's mighty blows, and the fate of Asgard lies in the hands of its most nefarious resident: Loki. Walt Simonson presents the finale of the "Surtur Saga," in this epic issue with a twist ending you'll never forget!
SQUADRON SUPREME #1
What happens when the ruling power of an entire world falls? The end proves to be just the beginning in this 12-issue limited series composed by Mark Gruenwald and drawn by Bob Hall. This issue picks up with the Squadron Supreme facing down a world in ruins thanks to an ultimately foiled conquest attempt by the alien Overmind and making shocking decisions on how to put things right.
WEB OF SPIDER-MAN #1
Spider-Man's back in black, for the first time! The return of the symbiote suit startles Spidey, to say the least. But when a team of knock-off Vulture wannabes decide to crash ol' Webhead's reunion, he's in for a world of trouble! Don't miss this debuting Wall-Crawler title written by Louise Simonson with art by Greg Larocque!
Brrrrr! Bit scary that I can just about remember these the first time around. First three are great stories. Not as pushed on Squadron or Web (fantastic art though!).
DD in particular is a cast...
