Jesse, alongside his brother Terry, was a member of the Elite Mutant Force. Mostly choosing fun over his work, Jesse was a regular at the nightclub "Heaven" run by Angel. Having stopped a suicide bomber from destroying "Heaven", Jesse was soon sent to arrest the club's singer Scarlett McKenzie for being a spy for the Human High Council. When Apocalypse ordered all of the prisoners in the breeding pens be culled, Jesse and Terry decided to rebel. After Cyclops rescued all of the prisoners he encountered the Bedlam Brothers but, rather than capturing him, Jesse and Terry allowed him to escape. After fighting off members of the Elite, Jesse and Terry decided to get out of the city to avoid getting captured.
