During a time when Steve Rogers learned of corruption in the White House he had become disillusioned and retired as Captain America. Upon learning this, Bob Russo announced that he would become the new Captain America. On his first night out as Captain America, he noticed a robbery at a store. Trying to stop the robbery, he swung from the top of a building, only to crash into a brick wall and breaking his arm in the process. The next day he announced his retirement as Captain America.
