What’s In Store for Miles Morales in His New Series? | Marvel’s Voices

Saladin Ahmed on why he wanted to focus more on Miles' high school life.

It’s a busy week for Miles Morales, as he hits movie theaters in “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” while the first issue of his new comic book series, MILES MORALES: SPIDER-MAN #1, was just released on Wednesday! To celebrate the occasion, MILES MORALES: SPIDER-MAN writer Saladin Ahmed recently stopped by Marvel’s Voices to discuss his plans for the young Super Hero.

Watch the video above to see Saladin chat with Marvel’s Voices host Angélique Roché, as he discusses why he felt it was important to ground Miles’ adventures back in a high school setting, explaining, “There’s something about the Spider-Man mythos that intersects with that age really well” – and how he wants to reflect what life would be like for Miles as a modern teenager, with or without superpowers.
