The Cast of 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' On What You Can Expect From Season 6

A new episode airs Friday, May 17 at 8p/7c on ABC!

"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." returned for Season 6 with a wild and explosive premiere.

During a recent set visit, we got to hang out behind-the-scenes with the cast and hear what they non-confidential S.H.I.E.L.D. intel they could divulge with us. Get a glimpse of it in the Earth's Mightiest Show bonus above!

Our S.H.I.E.L.D. agents have taken on HYDRA, aliens, a spirit of vengeanceInhumans, killer robots, and a post-apocalyptic future in space, among other things. What is there left to tackle? Well, apparently a lot according to the cast of the series.

Henry Simmons (Mack) sets the scene for us: "In the beginning of Season 6, I would have to say morale is quite low." Not only that, there are two teams; one on Earth trying to make sense of a new entity while another team in deep space looks for a Fitz frozen in a cryo-pod.

As seen at the end of the premiere episode, in a risky, bold gut feeling, Simmons defies the team (Daisy, Piper, Davis) while low on fuel and other resources, and expends the last of their fuel to hyper-drive further into space in pursuit of her husband. How does the cast view that decision? Find out above and more!

Last season, the team leaped forward in time to a dystopian future they soon realized must be prevented. While facing multiple timelines and new enemies from faraway planets, they found family, friends, teammates and the courage to pull off their biggest challenge yet. Their next challenge? Coming to grips with the knowledge that bending the laws of space and time may have saved the planet, but it couldn’t save Fitz or Coulson. Now, scattered across the galaxy, the team works to find their footing in the wake of losing Coulson in its sixth season.

“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” stars Clark Gregg as Sarge, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Chloe Bennet as Daisy Johnson, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Henry Simmons as Director Alphonso “Mack” MacKenzie, Natalia Cordova-Buckley as Elena “Yo-Yo” Rodriguez and Jeff Ward as Deke Shaw.

“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” was co-created by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen, who also serve as executive producers along with Jeffrey Bell and Jeph Loeb.

“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is produced by ABC Studios and Marvel Television.
