
Like its real world counterpart, Marvel's Los Angeles boasts its fair share of celebrities; some of them just happen to be super heroes, too. From tech magnates like Iron Man to actors like Wonder Man, these heroes chose to embrace the spotlight, while others—like Werewolf by Night and Ghost Rider—prefer to stay out of the limelight. Here are some of the super heroes and teams that call L.A. home.
In Marvel Spotlight (1971) #2
In his very first Marvel Universe appearance, Jack Russell stalks the streets of L.A. as the deadly Werewolf by Night. After his first transformation, Jack uncovers the truth about his lycanthropic legacy and wrestles the beast within in the wake of a devastating tragedy.
In Champions (1975) #1
L.A. gets its very first super team when Hercules assembles Black Widow, Ghost Rider, Iceman, and Angel as the Champions to protect the city from Pluto. However, despite funding from Angel, the Champions only stay together for a brief time.
In Marvel Premiere (1972) #28
Werewolf by Night isn't the only monster prowling L.A.! In this issue, Jack Russell, Man Thing, Johnny Blaze's Ghost Rider, and Morbius the Living Vampire team up when a mysterious mountain emerges on Sunset Boulevard, marking the first appearance of the Legion of Monsters.

West Coast Avengers: The Beginning
In West Coast Avengers (1984) #1
In this miniseries, Hawkeye and Mockingbird launch the inaugural West Coast Avengers team with Jim "Rhodey" Rhodes' Iron Man, Tigra, and Wonder Man. The group also establishes the Avengers Compound, a massive estate in Palos Verdes that serves the Avengers for many years to come.
West Coast Avengers: The Adventure Continues

Following their debut, the West Coast Avengers team grows to include over two dozen heroes on a rotating basis, including Iron Man (Tony Stark), Wasp, Ant-Man (Hank Pym), Moon Knight, Vision, Scarlet Witch, U.S. Agent, and the Thing. This iconic run features the introduction of White Vision, the loss of Scarlet Witch's children, and other milestone moments.

During his time with the West Coast Avengers, Tony Stark moved to the Retreat, a beachfront mansion that overlooks the Pacific Ocean in Malibu. In this issue, his attempt to launch Stark Enterprises in L.A. goes awry when Justin Hammer sends the Adapoid to sabotage him.

Reality TV gets a mutant makeover with X-Statix, whose violent and frequently deadly adventures take place in L.A. On top of their on-air missions, these celebrity mutants must deal with groupies, loss, addiction, betrayal, crazy wannabe members, Hollywood agents, and more.
In Runaways (2003) #1
When a group of teenagers discover their parents are secret super villains, they band together as the Runaways to stop them—if they can figure out how to live on their own in L.A. first, that is. In the wake of Civil War, the 50-State Initiative installed a state-sanctioned super team in every state. Tony Stark takes charge of the L.A. team, dubbed the Order, starting in this issue.
In All-New Ghost Rider (2014) #1
Hailing from the L.A. neighborhood Hillrock Heights, Robbie Reyes roars onto the scene as Ghost Rider when a vengeful spirit brings him back from the dead. He swaps the classic motorcycle for a muscle car known as the Hell Charger.
