The aristocratic Blue Kree and Imperial Minister Zarek works to rid the Kree of its impure races and lead his people instead of the emperor, the Supreme Intelligence<\/u><\/a>. His strategic and superior mind finds a tool to topple the Empire and unravel the liberal policies of its computerized, cesspool of a leader.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Second in Command<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n\r\n

Born an aristocrat as a Blue Kree, Zarek became the Kree\u2019s Imperial Minister, second only to the Kree emperor and organic computer, the Supreme Intelligence. Believing in the \u201cpure\u201d Blue Kree\u2019s superiority over the part-alien Pink, AKA White Kree, Zarek grows alarmed at the increasingly liberal racial policies of the Supreme Intelligence. Zarek plots treason with Supreme Public Accuser Ronan<\/u><\/a>, who holds views similar to his.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n\r\n

Strength, Strategy and Political Prowess<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n\r\n

Zarek has the standard Kree physical abilities, including greater strength, lifting 900 lbs., durability, and faster reflexes than a normal human. He has some knowledge of combat, though he generally prefers to let others do the fighting, and is a skilled politician. Zarek has access to various machines, weapons, and starships of Kree manufacture.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Enemies of the Superior Blue Kree<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n\r\n

Pink Kree such as Mar-Vell, AKA Captain Marvel<\/u><\/a>, who is bonded to Earth human Rick Jones<\/u><\/a>, becomes a pawn to Zarek, one he and his ally Ronan the Accuser use to try and topple the Empire. Though both Kree were pawns of the Supreme Intelligence who telepathically makes Zarek and Ronan aware of a love triangle between Mar-Vell, his lover medic Una, and Colonel Yon-Rogg<\/u><\/a>, information they use to turn Mar-Vell into a traitor.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The Supreme Intelligence is the Emperor of the Kree that Zarek is supposed to obey and yet, Zarek disagrees with his policies on race relations. The SI later dupes Zarek into a false alliance which leads to Zarek\u2019s banishment from the Kree home world, Hala.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Ronan later becomes an enemy of Zarek\u2019s when he marries the Inhuman<\/u><\/a>, Crystal Amaquelin Maximoff, AKA Crystal<\/u><\/a>, from the Royal Family of Atitlan and allows the Inhumans to take over Hala. Their alliance comes to a swift end when Zarek questions Ronan\u2019s loyalty to the Kree, but Ronan knocks Zarek out and arrests him.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Zarek\u2019s group the Lunatic Legion plans to kill Mar-Vell but it fails when Hank Pym, AKA Ant-Man<\/u><\/a>, and Janet Van Dyne, AKA The Wasp<\/u><\/a>, destroy a killer robot meant for Rick Jones who trades places with Mar-Vell.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Blue Kree Connections<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n\r\n

Zarek serves under the Supreme Intelligence as Kree Imperial Minister and becomes disgruntled with its liberal racial policies. He conspires with Ronan, a fellow Blue Kree with similar sentiments to overthrow the SI. They work together fighting against the SI for a time by creating a scapegoat in Mar-Vell though their plan fails.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

He founded the Lunatic Legion with members Admiral Sro-Himm, Fer-Porr, Kay-Sade, Tohn-Bil and Arjai-Ush to reclaim their perceived lost Blue heritage and retake the Empire from their supposed inferiors. Their base is located on the Blue Area of Earth\u2019s moon, their Empire\u2019s spiritual birthplace.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Uatu the Watcher<\/u><\/a> becomes an ally to Zarek and his Lunatic Legion when they set up their headquarters on the Blue Area of the Moon. Uatu helps the Legion fight Mar-Vell whom he grew jealous of for his \u201cProtector of the Universe\u201d title.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n\r\n

An Aristocrat\u2019s Account<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n\r\n

Dismayed by the growing numbers and social acceptance of the mixed-race Pink, AKA White, Kree championed by the Intelligence, the blue-skinned Zarek plotted with fellow aristocrat Ronan the Accuser to discredit the SI by setting up a Pink war hero as a traitor to his people, whose plot to destroy the planet Kree-Lar was only foiled by the diligence of Ronan and Zarek. They believed the resultant scandal would allow them to overthrow the SI and rule the empire. <\/p>\r\n\r\n

Unknown to the two conspirators, the SI learned of their plan and decided to use them for its own purposes. Noticing the burgeoning rivalry between Captain Mar-Vell and Colonel Yon-Rogg over Medic Una, and having its own plans for Mar-Vell, the SI secretly alerted Zarek and Ronan to the triangle and gave them the idea to use the trio for their plans. Zarek sent them on a spying mission to Earth; as planned by all parties, Mar-Vell soon began to sympathize with the Terrans and began to turn against his Kree superiors.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

When Una was accidentally killed in a battle between Kree and Aakon soldiers, Mar-Vell declared vengeance on Yon-Rogg for her death, giving Zarek and Ronan the opening they desired. Escaping into space, Mar-Vell\u2019s rocket was sent off-course by a magnetic ray from the Kree ship. Zarek and Ronan carefully manipulated the rocket\u2019s course so that Mar-Vell would be almost driven mad from the length of his journey and thus not question what would come next. Directing the rocket to a fringe Kree world that housed a sensory illusion chamber, Zarek, posing as seeming cosmic being \u201cZo,\u201d allegedly healed Mar-Vell and gave him enhanced strength, illusion casting and teleporting powers in exchange for Mar-Vell\u2019s service. <\/p>\r\n\r\n

After a brief return to Earth, \u201cZo\u201d ordered Mar-Vell to Kree-Lar to fulfill their bargain by stopping an idol of the pagan Kree god Tam-Bor from allegedly destroying the universe. Entering the idol, Mar-Vell discovered the bomb Zarek and Ronan had left to destroy Kree-Lar and implicate him. However, Mar-Vell destroyed the bomb before it exploded, allowing the SI to publicly arrest Zarek and take Ronan prisoner. The SI then revealed Zarek\u2019s ruse to Mar-Vell, who was shocked at Zo\u2019s true identity. Before they could do anything to Zarek, Ronan teleported in and rescued him, but the two were swiftly apprehended by the SI\u2019s guards, with Zarek exiled soon afterward.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Sometime later, Zarek teamed up with several other racist Blue Kree in another bid to rid the Empire of \u201cimpure\u201d Kree, starting with Captain Mar-Vell, who by then was bonded to Earth teenager Rick Jones. Setting up a base on Earth\u2019s moon, they named themselves the Lunatic Legion as a play on the moon\u2019s name, Luna. The Legion sent several agents to kill Rick Jones thereby killing Mar-Vell by sending the Living Laser robot to Earth, but Hank Pym and the Wasp destroyed it. The Legion only succeeded in alerting Mar-Vell to their presence. Mar-Vell traced the Legion to the moon, finding that the Uatu the Watcher helped them, but a hallucinogen accidentally consumed by Jones left him vulnerable to attack by Zarek and his allies. Zarek strapped Mar-Vell to a photonic disintegrator machine to kill him, but a timely switch between Jones and Mar-Vell shorted out the machine.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Zarek watched as Mar-Vell took down his teammates before he was knocked unconscious. He awoke to battle Mar-Vell who mowed down his comrades. Working with Sro-Himm, Zarek immobilized Mar-Vell by slamming his Nega-Bands together, bringing a recovered Jones in their custody whom they captured. A short-lived capture, Mar-Vell returned using his newfound control over their mental link to switch places with Jones without using the Bands, and quickly subdued Zarek and Sro-Himm. Downed, Zarek urged Uatu to finish Mar-Vell off, but Mar-Vell knocked Zarek out before Uatu could respond. <\/p>\r\n\r\n

Returning to Kree-Lar, the SI promised the Legion another go at Mar-Vell for its own reasons, but the Legion was again defeated, to Zarek\u2019s dismay. The group disbanded soon after, with Zarek eventually finding refuge on the fringe world Godthab Omega.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

While on Godthab Omega, Zarek was present when Negative Zone ruler Annihilus<\/u><\/a> invaded the region, though Zarek\u2019s activities during this time are unrevealed.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

When the Kree\u2019s old genetic creations the Inhumans took over the Kree Empire, Zarek viewed their rule as a conquest by animals, and sought to overthrow them. Subtly manipulated by Inhuman leader Maximus via the secret robot Doctor Vere, Zarek formed a terrorist group and used a makeshift Omni-Wave projector to incite the Inhumans\u2019 slave caste Alpha Primitives to open rebellion.
