'Godzilla Conquers the Multiverse' #1 Poses a Kaiju-Sized Threat to Reality

The Marvel Multiverse has a Godzilla-sized problem heading its way! And Knull, the King in Black, isn’t far behind.

On the heels of the Kaiju war that erupted across realities in Godzilla: Infinity Roar (2026), writer Gerry Duggan returns to continue the monster-sized tale in GODZILLA CONQUERS THE MULTIVERSE #1, with artist Javier Garrón bringing the story to life.

As seen in Infinity Roar, the unholy alliance formed between Godzilla and Knull left Doctor Doom’s unlikely strike team of heroes and villains to deal with the fallout. So, what happens next as universes burn? Gerry Duggan joins Marvel.com to discuss the rising stakes and tease who’s coming out to play in this Multiversal sandbox.

MARVEL.COM: Godzilla has fought just about everybody and everything in the Marvel Universe. How do you raise the stakes even further in Godzilla Conquers the Multiverse?

GERRY DUGGAN: Well, in Infinity Roar, our antagonists won. Knull got what he wanted, and so did Godzilla. For the heroes and villains assembled by Dr. Doom, their salvation lies in the Multiverse. I feel comfortable saying I've told some really crazy stories in the 616 – this one might be the craziest.

MARVEL.COM: The Multiverse is a sandbox of limitless possibilities. Were there any "toys" you were particularly excited to play with in this story

DUGGAN: Yes, and these are not spoilers. We reach for old friends, and we make some new ones. Mecha Fin Fang Foom? With an adamantium hide? Yes. Also, it's a certain giant moth's 60th this year…

MARVEL.COM: What was it like working with Javier Garrón on this book?

DUGGAN: Javi's the star of these comics, even though our movie star from Toho gets top billing, of course. What a treat it is to see what he's done. The action, the comedy, the heartbreak. It's a real treat, from a sublime talent at the top of his game.
