Listen to the HAWKEYE: FREEFALL #1 Playlist

Writer Matt Rosenberg shares the songs that inspired the newest series

With the release of the hotly anticipated series HAWKEYE: FREEFALL, the erudite editors at Marvel.com wanted to enhance your reading experience to the max.  To do so, we teamed up with comic writer Matt Rosenberg to provide a playlist of music that inspired the comic. Curated by Rosenberg gives you some insight into his mindset as he approached the iconic Avenger Archer, Hawkeye

"This is a mix of songs that I played way too much while I was writing the book and songs I think serve as a good soundtrack for the issue. Those things are sometimes very different for reasons that I can't quite explain," explained, or attempted to explain, by Rosenberg. "I should probably point out that they are also not songs I think Clint would listen to. He probably listens to stuff like Bad Company, Jimmy Buffet, and REO Speedwagon... And it's probably unclear even to him if he's doing it ironically."

Take a listen to the songs here on Spotify:

Rosenberg also expanded on the songs, "Anyway, these songs are smart, fun, and badass, but with carefully contained chaos lurking just under the surface. Much like Clint's life, they seem cool as hell and totally in control but threaten to explode and go wildly out of control at any moment. That dangerous energy is a big part of what makes Hawkeye, and a Hawkeye book, so fun."
