'Spider-Woman' Writer Karla Pacheco Answers the Hard-Hitting Questions About Jessica Drew

"Foes... perhaps!"

Whether you're a long-time fan of Jessica Drew AKA Spider-Woman or you've just stumbled into her web, there's a lot of arachnid action going on! Last week, SPIDER-WOMAN #1 went on sale, and Ryan "Agent M" Penagos had a few questions for series writer Karla Pacheco. Watch the video above for the full interview, but get some highlights right here!

What is harder: Being an Avenger or being a mom to a super-powered baby?

I definitely think the baby is a bigger issue.

Who is Spider-Woman’s new nemesis?

Octavia Vermis, the daughter of Count Otto Vermis, formerly blown up by Spider-Woman on a boat.

Will we see any other old foes that you can talk about?

Foes… perhaps!

Will we learn more about Spider-Woman’s origins?

You’re gonna get some very cool flashbacks to Jessica’s past.

What about Jess’s son? What has he been up to lately?

I sent him to a farm upstate. He’s fine.

Where’s Porcupine?

He’s on a farm upstate. … I assure you, everyone’s just…  [Thumbs up]

Spider-Woman has a new suit in the series. Where did she get it?

We will actually tell you in issue #1.

Have you watched the Spider-Woman animated series (currently streaming on Disney+)?

Oh yeah, it’s on the list.

Shouldn’t Spider-Woman have eight legs or eight limbs?

You can’t prove that she doesn’t.

Be sure to read SPIDER-WOMAN #1, written by Karla Pacheco with art by Pere Perez and a cover by Jung-Geun Yoon! Contact your local comic shop to find out how to get your copy!
