This Best Costumes in This Week's Marvel Comics

Marvel.com's fashion columnist highlights the best looks from today's new books!

Marvel Comics' own Emily Newcomen is our fashion columnist, an alumna of the Fashion Institute of Technology, and (like her style icon Mary Jane Watson) an extremely natural redhead.

Welcome back to Marvel’s Coolest Costumes!

It’s one of my favorite times of the year…it’s AWARDS SEASON! With the awards shows hitting nearly every weekend, the theme this week captures the beauty and opulence of the red carpet. While there were many stylish nominees, these three are the big winners.

I like them, I really, really like them!

French Quartered - LOVE ROMANCES #1

Love Romances #1

This story, in LOVE ROMANCES #1, calls back to old New Orleans. The blood red ruffled gown with the matching opera gloves are full of drama…just like the premise of the tale its found in.

Meggan - AGE OF X-MAN: THE AMAZING NIGHTCRAWLER #1

When is Meggan NOT fabulous? I’ll wait. She stuns on Nightcrawler’s arm in her signature rich green, but has elevated the look for the carpet with gold accessories and white opera gloves.

Nyx - AVENGERS: NO ROAD HOME #2

Probably my favorite look of the week, the winner of Best Villain, if you will. Nyx stuns in this soft black cutout gown paired with belt and interesting, ornate gloves.

But it was an honor just to be nominated!
