Witness the Beginning -- and the End -- in 'History of the Marvel Universe'

This epic undertaking by Mark Waid and Javier Rodriguez goes on sale this week!

Marvel (the company) was formed 80 years ago as a friendly neighborhood comic magazine maker -- but the Marvel Universe, as a setting for the fantastical tales and Super Heroes and Villains that we have known and loved and celebrated, has been around for eons and eons. And now, in the pages of HISTORY OF THE MARVEL UNIVERSE #1, that universe is coming to an end. But how did the Marvel Universe begin? What brought about the creation of everything that formed time, space, and everything in between that gave heroes their powers and brought distant planets and their people together? This new massive mag by Mark Waid and Javier Rodriguez promises to uncover the answers to these questions -- and you'll be able to read them on Wednesday, July 24!

“It’s a series made not just for hardcore Marvel fans, although they will love it. If there’s anything you loved about the Marvel Universe, it’s in this book somewhere,” explains Waid.

At the beginning of HISTORY OF THE MARVEL UNIVERSE #1, we find Franklin Richards and Galactus in the moments right before the end of the universe as we know it. The six-issue limited series will go through the entirety of Marvel history and show all you can imagine and more, from the dawn of time to the heat death of the universe. Rodriguez's artwork will turn Waid's words into “a visual cornucopia," according to Executive Editor Tom Brevoort. "You’ll be able to stare at these pages for hours at a time and find new things that are in them."
