'Guardians of the Galaxy' Composer Tyler Bates Shares Inspiration for the Movie Music in ‘For Scores’ Podcast

Find out how the music from the Marvel Studios film came to life!

Get hooked on a musical feeling with composer Tyler Bates, as he spares inspiration behind the rockin' tunes for Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy and Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2!

While James Gunn curated much of the music for the soundtrack, there’s so much more music than just that. Bates stepped in to create the instrumental music for the intergalactic adventure adding emotion and heart to all the moments that aren’t underscored by a Top 40s hit.

In a new episode of Disney Music's For Scores Podcast, Bates talks to host Jon Burlingame about his decades-long career creating music for Hollywood blockbusters, which includes both Guardian films.

Check out Bates interview with Burlingame above, and find his sweeping score in both Guardians of the Galaxy movies, currently streaming on Disney+

For Scores is available to listen to right now, on Stitcher, Pandora, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, iHeartRadio, TuneIn, and YouTube.
