NYCC 2019: adidas and Foot Locker Team Up for 'Made 4 Marvel 80' Shoe Collection

Designed by the legendary Joe Quesada and available online October 18.

adidas Marvel 80

In honor of Marvel’s 80th, Marvel, adidas, and Foot Locker have teamed up for a shoe collection fit for a hero (or anyone training like a hero).

The shoes, which were designed by the legendary Marvel artist/writer and Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada, come in two different designs. The adidas AM4 Marvel 80 Vol. 1 features a sleek black shoe design with MARVEL written on the outer side of the shoe, which slowly fades into a purple-red toe. On the backside of the shoe is a big numerical 80 — celebrating 80 years, of course.

The second shoe, adidas AM4 Marvel 80 Vol. 2, features an all-over comic design showcasing some of our favorite Marvel heroes. MARVEL 80 YEARS can be seen written towards the backside of the shoe.

Both shoes are built with a range of consumer benefits, including lightweight stability and a far more sustainable product, the adidas Made For (AM4) series is the next step for the future of the industry. The AM4 project is in a constant BETA mode, with insights taken from consumers following each product launch used to shape future designs.

“Some of the true joys of my career at Marvel are all the unique opportunities that have come my way, things that I could never have anticipated being a part of,” Quesada explained about the launch of the shoes. “Like creating two different, exclusive sneaker designs for adidas and Foot Locker celebrating Marvel’s 80th anniversary. I had such a blast designing them and I hope Marvel and adidas fans have as much fun wearing them.”

The shoes retail for $150 per pair and can be purchased online at FootLocker.com starting on October 18th. They can also be found in-store at the 34th Street Foot Locker in New York City, with limited pairs of the AM4 Marvel 80 Vol. 2 available.
