‘Black Panther 2' Will Explore the World of Wakanda

The Marvel Studios film will honor Chadwick Boseman’s legacy and portrayal of King T’Challa.

Marvel Studios’ Black Panther 2 will continue to honor the legacy of Chadwick Boseman and his portrayal of King T’Challa, and will not recast the character. Rather, revealed during The Walt Disney Company’s 2020 Investor Day presentation by Kevin Feige, president, Marvel Studios, and chief creative officer, Marvel, the sequel will continue to explore the incomparable world of Wakanda and all of the rich and varied characters introduced in the first film.

Written and directed by Ryan Coogler, who was behind Black Panther, the film will be released on July 8, 2022.
