Elizabeth Henstridge Will Direct An Upcoming Episode of ‘Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’

And we're going to get some information about Fitz!

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D has more tricks up its sleeve when it comes to Season 7! During the latest episode of Marvel Live!, it was revealed that S.H.I.E.L.D’s very own Elizabeth Henstridge is set to direct next week’s episode!

Honestly, it was only a matter of time before Jemma Simmons took on a brand new task.

Talking to Marvel’s Lorraine Cink, Henstridge explains that the episode was “filmed it so long ago and we’ve been keeping it a secret and I’m so happy to be able to share it now!”

Onset, Henstridge shadowed other directors onset over the last three seasons (including Clark Gregg!), and every time she wasn’t in front of the camera she was asking “annoying questions” to everyone behind the camera. Eventually, she talked to the executive producers of S.H.I.E.L.D. and explained her desire to helm an episode herself.

You’re going to tune into tonight’s brand new episode of S.H.I.E.L.D. to find up the setup for Henstridge’s upcoming episode, but she does tease that it’s “different than anything we’ve done before” — and the episode includes a lot of Daisy.

“We had to shoot it in a whole new way, she explains. “It was very interesting. To be able to work so closely with [Chloe Bennet], for our friendship and our journey together, we both arrived to this show very new. And to go through that together, and for the episode I directed to be Daisy heavy was so brilliant.”

Henstridge’s episode will also address Fitz’s ongoing absence more so than in past episodes, but as for what we learn she’s still keeping that a secret.

“There are so many questions,” She continued. “So yes, we’re going to find out where he is and why, and some of that information is going to come from Jemma. We’ll find out more in the next episode about that. And some of the information about where he is and why will come directly from Fitz. That’s all I can say!”
