Biography

Biography

While imprisoned, criminal Henry Camp meets Wrecker who plans a jailbreak to retrieve his mystical crowbar. When a bolt of lightning strikes the crowbar, it endows Camp with some of Wrecker’s super-strength. Camp becomes Bulldozer, and together, they formed the Super Villain team the Wrecking Crew.

Orphan to Jailbird

When he was of age, Henry Camp enlists in the United States Army, rising the ranks to Master Sergeant. He is ultimately dishonorably discharged and gets involved in crime, landing himself in Ryker’s Island Prison. While there, he shares a cell with Dirk Garthwaite, AKA The Wrecker.

He makes friends with fellow inmates Dr. Eliot Franklin and Brian Calusky. With Garthwaite, the four of them plan a jailbreak and while making their escape, Garthwaite locates his personal items, specifically his enchanted crowbar, giving to him by Karnilla, the Norn Queen, which had the power to take on Thor Odinson, AKA Thor. Once outside, an electrical storm allows Garthwaite to share his powers. He has them all grab onto the crowbar and when lightning strikes it, it bestows super-strength on the other three. Adopting costumes, they become the Wrecking Crew, with Camp as Bulldozer who outfits himself with a special helmet.

The Strength of a Bulldozer

Thanks to the electrical storm and Camp’s proximity to the mystical crowbar, he possesses several powers including superhuman strength, speed, stamina, and durability. These superhuman abilities allow him to lift 10 tons, run up to 60 miles per hour, and thanks to his durability, he can sustain no injuries from .45 caliber bullets. However, his powers wane if he’s out of range from the enchanted crowbar. However, his powers wane if he’s out of range from the enchanted crowbar.

Thanks to his time in the army and as a boxer, Camp is trained in hand-to-hand combat. He wears an armored helmet and shoulder pads, which help him headbutt his opponents without suffering many injuries. Though, the helmet somewhat reduces the range of his peripheral vision.

Super-powered Opponents

Alongside the Wrecking Crew, Camp goes up against Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, the Avengers, the street-level heroes, The Defenders, and most often, the God of Thunder, Thor.

Crew Comrades

Possibly stemming from his army training, Camp is loyal to the Wrecking Crew’s leader, The Wrecker. His comrades in arms include Dr. Eliot Franklin, AKA Thunderball, and Brian Calusky, AKA Piledriver. With the Crew, he joins Parker Robbins, AKA the Hood’s army of Super Villains and eventually works for Norman Osborn, AKA Green Goblin.

Bulldoze One’s Way Through Life

After their first foray against the Defenders, Bulldozer and the Wrecking Crew were inseparable, appearing with them in all their endeavors, including their abduction to Battleworld by the Beyonder and joining with Doctor Doom's army of Super Villains. The Crew also joined Baron Heinrich Zemo, AKA Baron Zemo's Masters of Evil and Bulldozer was instrumental in helping bring down Heracles, AKA Hercules. After this, Thor used his hammer to draw the Wrecker’s away from the others who divided it, and Bulldozer was left powerless.

Months later, the Wrecker freed his Crew and restored their power once more. As before, wherever the Wrecking Crew was to be found, Bulldozer was among their number. They performed many other acts of villainy, although they had to deal often with the treachery of Thunderball, who craved the Wrecker’s power all for himself. Eventually, the Crew reconciled, seeking out Hercules once more. But battling them helped Hercules overcome the fear of combat he had suffered since the beating at their hands, and they were defeated.

Once, their powers began fading when many of Asgard's links to Earth were separated. The entire Crew received a power boost when hired by Arnim Zola to battle the Thunderbolts (unaware that the Thunderbolts included many of their former allies in the Masters of Evil).

The Wrecking Crew appeared together for various endeavors: hired by the likes of the Doomsday Man, battling heroes such as the Avengers and the Warriors Three, used as lackeys by Morgan le Fay, among others. When the Crew was imprisoned in the Raft, they joined the massive breakout and escaped. Though they were soon recaptured by the new Avengers team, which formed to address the breakout. They were then forced to serve in Helmut Zemo, AKA Baron Zemo's  Thunderbolts' army before escaping. They ran into Cain Marko, AKA Juggernaut, who had turned his back on his criminal endeavors, and the Crew beat him up for it, but Juggernaut’s teammates in Excalibur defeated the Crew.

After the Superhuman Registration Act (SRA) passed, the Wrecking Crew escaped to Canada, terrorizing Canadian citizens until confronted by Walter Langkowski, AKA Sasquatch, whom they beat quite severely. When Wrecker was drawn to a museum that housed an ancient doorway into the realm of the Great Beasts, he and the Crew entered it hoping to gain more power. They were soon confronted by the alien Beta Ray Bill though they had gained more power by the Great Beast Tanaraq. They subdued Bill, released demons from the realm, and battled Canadian government-sponsored Omega Flight team. Tanaraq escaped and possessed Sasquatch before it was imprisoned in Michael Twoyoungmen, AKA Shaman’s magic back by Omega Flight’s Elizabeth Twoyoungmen, AKA Talisman, which removed their increased power. As such, the Crew was defeated again. While imprisoned in Manitoba, Thunderball used a self-made bomb to free the Crew, but it caused Wrecker to remind him with a beating about who led the crew.

Returning to America, Bulldozer and the Crew joined Parker Robbins, AKA the Hood’s army of Super Villains. They fought the Avengers but lost and, in the aftermath, Bulldozer and Thunderball terrorized Hell’s Kitchen before regrouping with their teammates in Hood’s army. Bulldozer, alongside Hood’s army and the Crew, teamed up with the Avengers against the alien Skrulls when they invaded Earth but afterward, they attacked the Avengers in a trap set by Norman Osborn, but were subsequently knocked out by Carol Danvers, AKA Captain Marvel.[BM3]

While working for Osborn, Bulldozer and the Crew helped his plot to invade Asgard. Following its ultimate failure and the end of the Superhuman Registration Act, Bulldozer was captured yet again and eventually incarcerated at Pleasant Hill by S.H.I.E.L.D.
