Cain Marko was granted great physical power and squandered it on murder, killing dozens of people in his lifetime. Eventually, following the rise of Apocalypse
and the death of his brother, Charles, Cain reformed and abandoned his life of violence, moving to Avalon to seek refuge from Apocalypse's cullings. His duty was to guide others seeking refuge in Avalon from the Infernal Gallop and lead them to Avalon. He would often tell these people stories about his brother Charles. When Apocalypse's Pale Riders
attacked Avalon, Cain's anger began to resurface. In an attempt to keep his anger in check, Cain suffered an aneurism and died.
