The being who is known as Carina Walters is the daughter of perennial beings the Collector and Matani. Like her parents Carina has existed in the universe for eons. She was dispatched to Earth by her father to seduce the newly powered Michael Korvac, as a ploy to reveal his true intentions. Carina, however, fell in love with Korvac and eventually married him. She switched loyalties from her father to Korvac, who blasted the Collector to ashes from afar before the Elder could tell the Avengers what he had discovered. Carina and Korvac were presumed to have lost their lives in a final confrontation with the Avengers, although Korvac has since been seen in several different energy forms.
