Norman Osborn's Origins Corporation used DNA from the Glob (Joseph Timms) to give Morass her uncanny abilities and a place on General John Ryker's Gamma Corps: Black. Assigned to capture Lyra, the Hulk (Bruce Banner)'s daughter from an alternate future, Morass ensnared Lyra with her clay-like tentacles until Lyra broke free and escaped. Morass pursued and was lured into a salt flat, impeding her ability to reconstitute her damaged form and causing her to dry up like a statue. Lyra shattered Morass' body, leaving it near Gamma Corps: Black's airship with a death threat for Morass' teammates carved into her torso.
