Although the five pilots of the Quintronic Man
trained for months to act as a single unit, McCord seemed to be a loose cannon – choosing to operate separately from the others. Head Man
told his employer, Tony Stark
, McCord should be replaced, but when an emergency call was received about a Hulk
disturbance, there simply wasn't enough time to get a new pilot. McCord relished in the fact he was still on the team despite Head Man's feelings, and the first chance he got, he acted without authorization. Whether or not McCord was a team player may not have affected the outcome of the battle anyway. The Hulk defeated the Quintonic Man with one of its own devices and left the robot buried under a heap of rubble.
