THE FUTURE FOUNDATION

When Mister Fantastic grew disillusioned with the scientific community, he established the Future Foundation, a collective of young geniuses from Atlantis, Wakanda, Subterranea, the super hero community, and beyond. Together with the Fantastic Four, the Future Foundation tackles problems even Reed Richards can’t solve alone, from the Thing’s rocky condition to the restoration of the Multiverse.

Following the apparent death of the Human Torch, the Fantastic Four fully integrates itself with the Future Foundation and recruits Spider-Man to fill the void left by Johnny’s sacrifice. Donning new black and white costumes, the Future Foundation faces threats like the Council of Reeds, a Kree invasion of Earth, and the Mad Celestials. When the Fantastic Four step away for a cosmic adventure, they leave Ant-Man (Scott Lang), Medusa, She-Hulk, and Ms. Thing (Darla Deering) in charge. After several giant creatures escape from the Baxter Building, the Future Foundation finds itself in the care of the original Human Torch, an android and S.H.I.E.L.D. agent named Jim Hammond. After saving reality, Reed and the reality-warping Molecule Man restore the Future Foundation. Franklin and Molecule Man use their vast powers to create new universes, and Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, and the Future Foundation leave Earth to help them rebuild the Multiverse.

Another Threat to the Multiverse

During their Multiverse-rebuilding efforts, the Future Foundation encounters the Griever at the End of All Things, a cosmic spirit of entropy. Having destroyed hundreds of universes and also seemingly killed Molecule Man, the Griever proves herself to be one of the Future Foundation’s greatest threats yet.

The Multiverse Adventure Continues

After the Richards Family decides to stay on Earth and restart the Fantastic Four, the rest of the Future Foundation keeps on traveling through the Multiverse, where they encounter some familiar faces—including that of the Maker, a twisted version of Reed Richards from the Ultimate Universe.

The Future Foundation finally arrives back in their home universe. Following years of rebuilding and traveling through the Multiverse, the Future Foundation disbands—for now.
