Trust Me, Bro

In Hawkeye (2012) #1

This HAWKEYE series was really my introduction to reading comics, as well as a few favorites: Annie Wu's art, Lucky the Pizza Dog, and of course, Kate Bishop. With emotional and funny writing by Matt Fraction, this series is a great introduction to both Hawkeyes. It also has creative single issues, including a Christmas special, an issue about Clint Barton’s hearing loss, and an issue from Lucky’s point of view, bro.

Kate Bishop Goes Solo

In Hawkeye (2016) #1

My follow-up recommendation is the follow-up series starring Kate Bishop! Writer Kelly Thompson brings the humor and mystery back as Kate returns to L.A. to continue her private eye/Superhero work. Mind control! Jessica Jones! The dog! This series has it all.

Enter Jeff

In West Coast Avengers (2018) #1

Are you sensing a theme? What happens when you take both Hawkeyes, some other heroes, and a reality TV crew? This comic! Learn the origins of world-famous Jeff the Land Shark right here!

Past Meets Present

In Jessica Jones: Purple Daughter Mdo Digital Comic (2019) #1

Switching to a different private eye, this comic finds Jessica Jones investigating a mystery close to home: why is her daughter now purple? I was introduced to Jessica Jones from her TV series and love a good detective story; this one mixes Jessica's past with her present. Plus, there’s a guest appearance from Emma Frost! Fun!

A New Beginning

In House of X (2019) #1

After learning about the X-Men from movies and animated shows, I dove in with their new introduction in HOUSE OF X/POWER OF X. It’s a big shake-up in the X-Men status quo, but also a new beginning, so it’s a great point to jump into the mutant world.
