Susan Storm Richards has come a long way since her first encounter with cosmic rays. Although she initially only possessed the power to turn invisible, earning her the codename Invisible Woman, her powers have evolved, making her the Fantastic Four’s secret weapon. Here are some of the coolest ways Sue has used her powers, from blinding her opponents to stopping a Celestial in its tracks.

In Fantastic Four (1961) #400
Celestials may be ancient cosmic entities possessing power beyond human comprehension, but even they face a challenge from the Invisible Woman. In this issue, Sue takes on a Celestial and walks away victorious thanks to some clever maneuvering with her force fields.
In Fantastic Four (1998) #603
Sue faces those cosmic entities again in the form of the Mad Celestials, who will stop at nothing to destroy universes. For this battle, she fends off three Celestials at once by pushing her powers to the limit—but even that isn’t enough this time.

When Galactus arrives in Latveria, Sue leaps in to save her friend Ben Grimm, AKA the Thing. Her force fields manage to deflect Galactus’ blast of the power cosmic for several moments while the rest of the Fantastic Four and Doctor Doom go to work to stop the Devourer of Worlds.

By trapping one of Human Torch’s flames and condensing it, Sue can create a plasma spike that generates an electromagnetic pulse. In this issue, she unleashes this ability on a villain called Technarx, shorting the villain out.

By filtering the light from Johnny’s flame through an invisible combustion chamber, Sue can create a powerful laser. This issue sees Sue wield this ability against a cluster of invisible asteroids.
In Fantastic Four (1998) #549
In a more surgical use of her powers, Sue can use tiny force fields to block coronary arteries, which would trigger a heart attack. Just the threat of this ability alone sends the Wizard into a panic during this issue.

In Invisible Woman (2019) #1
On occasion, Sue employs her invisibility as a secret agent for S.H.I.E.L.D. In this series, she uses her original power for some spy work. She also bends light to create disguises; for instance, she can change her hair color by manipulating how much light it reflects.
In Fantastic Four (1961) #286
Sue can block telepathic attacks using her force fields. In this issue, she protects herself from Jean Grey’s telepathic wave before trapping the mutant in a force field, neutralizing her powers.
In Fantastic Four (1961) #415
By sending out weak force fields, Sue can give herself radar sense. This way, she can sense other invisible beings and objects. Using this ability, she once detected Onslaught when he turned himself invisible.
In Fantastic Four (2022) #6
Sue can even turn sunlight invisible. In this issue, she uses this ability to contain a parasitic bacteria that escaped the Dark Dimension by plunging several states into darkness for a few days, effectively starving it and preventing it from spreading across the world.
