The claw was sought after by Doctor Doom with hopes it would heal his face; Professor Van Nuys was also seeking the claw to cure his debilitating disease, which left him bound to a wheelchair. After interference from Doom, Reed Richards was able to retrieve the claw and cured the Professor. It was destroyed shortly after its last use.
