Tiger Division takes on all manner of terrifying and overwhelming threats, making them South Korea’s foremost defenders.
When South Korea needs an unstoppable Super Hero team, the shape-shifting superspy and government bureaucrat Director Ami Han, AKA White Fox, of the National Intelligence Service (NIS) assembles the country’s best.
NIS’s Director Ami Han oversees Tiger Division, so she assembles a team of super-powered individuals: Tae-Won, AKA Taegukgi, a powerhouse with a heart of gold who acts as team leader; Lady Bright, a card-wielding sorceress; Mr. Enigma, a street-brawling demigod; The General, a living totem; Gun-R II, an android with an attitude, and Seol Hee, AKA Luna Snow, a cryokinetic pop star who sometimes runs field missions.
Tiger Division’s earliest foes include career criminal and master mimic Taskmaster, who infiltrates Tiger Division’s Headquarters; Min-Jae, Taeguki’s criminal partner from his past; and Min-Jae’s benefactor, the maniacal Super Villain Victor von Doom, AKA Doctor Doom. Later though, when Doom creates world peace and rules, Tiger Division must uphold the new world order and take orders from their former foe.
As a government sponsored Super Hero team, Tiger Division reports to South Korea’s National Intelligence Service. The members of the team are each other's allies, but Taeguki and Lady Bright’s friendship goes back further than their teammates.
When the Tiger Division raced to help a ferry boat that had burst into flames, they quickly rescued everyone from the danger. In the aftermath, Taegukgi received a vision of his ajumma, the woman who raised him and who died years ago. She warned Taeguki, whom she called Tae-Won, about the dangers of keeping secrets and urged him to free himself of his past.
Upon reconvening at Tiger Division HQ in Buramsan, Director Ami Han tasked the team with tracking down a stolen artifact, the Psylot Gem, from their headquarters’ campus. Though she declined to give them more information as it was above their pay grade. The gem left behind an energy signature that they could follow. The trail ended at a decommissioned weapons storehouse for the army and they were soon ambushed by a bunch of robots. They fought them off but the General took a bad hit. Returning to HQ, they discussed their observations, notably that they mostly attacked Tae and Gun-R II discovered a link between the robots, a mega-corporation called MTO, and a mysterious project called “Kal Duo.”
Unbeknownst to the team, Tae was part of a gang in his younger years, and he and his old partner in crime, Min-Jae, called themselves the Kal Duo. Shaken by the connection, Tae went on his own to investigate MTO. Breaking into their offices, Tae found a replica of the Amplifier, a familiar machine that gave Tae his powers, the Psylot Gem, and an aged and cybernetically enhanced Min-Jae. Embittered by Tae abandoning their gang, Min-Jae planned to use the gem and the Amplifier to steal Tae’s powers for himself.
Tiger Division came to the rescue, but they arrived too late to prevent Min-Jae from absorbing Tae’s powers back into the Psylot Gem where they had originated. But before Min-Jae could transfer the powers to himself, he was interrupted by his villainous benefactor–Doctor Doom!
Min-Jae joined Doom and his robots and a battle ensued with Tiger Division. When Min-Jae had the upper hand over Tae, Tae called Min-Jae family and informed him that he turned his life around for his family. Doom sensed the weakness in Min-Jae and about to strike, Min-Jae had a change of heart and punched Doom across the room. Gun-R II reversed the power-transfer process in the Amplifier, restoring Tae’s powers just before its circuits overloaded and destroyed the gem in the process. Doom departed, realizing he had nothing to gain by staying, but reminded them that he never forgets those who cross him and things were far from over. Min-Jae also made his escape. Back at headquarters, Tae owned up to his past and admitted he was running from it.
Doctor Doom then took over the mantle of the Sorcerer Supreme and created world peace. Tiger Division was ordered to uphold the new world order, but not everyone was content with Doom’s utopia. Adding the Philippines' own master of the sea Pearl Pangan, AKA Wave, China’s master of the sky Lei Ling, AKA Aero, and Vietnam’s Xi'an Coy Manh, AKA Karma, to the ranks, time will tell if it’s Tiger Division or Doom’s Division.
