'Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe' #1 Roars onto Marvel Unlimited for Early Release

The King of the Monsters has made his way to Marvel Unlimited!

Just in time for writer Gerry Duggan’s interview on The Official Marvel Podcast, GODZILLA DESTROYS THE MARVEL UNIVERSE (2025) #1 lands on Marvel Unlimited for a special early release. “I'm hoping that you could pick up this story and not be familiar with either Godzilla or X-Men,” Duggan told The Official Marvel Podcast. “We're trying to be as inviting as I think we can, and I think we have been very, very successful.”

“With this story, what I tried to do is pick the most iconic iterations of the Marvel heroes as possible,” he explained. “I felt I had an obligation to distill some of our characters down into their most recognizable states… The Avengers are there, the Fantastic Four are there.” 

“Initially out of the gate, Black Panther recognizes right away that this vibranium is a little different and that he might need to dip out and work on a solution to this that maybe is not readily apparent at the top while the other heroes fight,” he added. “This is something that could affect the balance of life on planet Earth—and that's how strong we've made Godzilla in this story.”

In Duggan and artist Javier Garron’s GODZILLA DESTROYS THE MARVEL UNIVERSE (2025) #1, a previously dormant Godzilla has been angrily awoken and begun carving a path of annihilation as Earth's Mightiest Heroes band together to try and stop its cataclysmic rampage! But when their combined efforts fail to slow the Bringer of Destruction, Earth's heroes are forced to go to extraordinary lengths to try and bring Godzilla down—including joining forces with Earths most devious villains! But will this be enough to stop Godzilla as it tears straight through the Marvel Universe into the Dark Dimension and other realms? 

Plus, how is the King of the Monsters connected to the mysterious metal, vibranium, and what does this mean for Wakanda? In the face of an unstoppable force of nature, the Marvel Universe must come together like never before in this earth-shattering fight for Earth's survival.
