Peach Momoko's Kimono Variant Covers Debut Stunning New Designs for Marvel Heroes

Inspired by Japanese attire, Peach Momoko's new Kimono Variant Covers arrive this March.

his April, see stunning new depictions of Marvel heroes that can only come from renowned talent Peach Momoko in KIMONO VARIANT COVERS! The best-selling artist, known for elegantly blending Japanese culture with the Marvel mythos in hit titles like DEMON DAYS and ULTIMATE X-MEN, wished to further reimagine Marvel characters in traditional Japanese attire.

The 19 covers spotlight a wide range of characters including icons, fan-favorites, and recently introduced breakout stars, each wearing kimono designs that reflect their powers and history. These stunning portraits encapsulate the unique artistic vision Momoko brings to Marvel storytelling year round in her acclaimed series and cover work.

"When I drew the Marvel heroes wearing kimono, I wanted people to simply enjoy seeing the heroes wearing kimono as a fashion item," Momoko explained. "I didn't want to stick to just a traditional formal image, so I tried to bring out the individuality of a super hero wearing the kimono as a very casual look. The overall design is simple, but I hope you could feel the wabi-sabi in each cover."
