Riri Williams Meets Shuri When 'Ironheart' #9 Goes to Wakanda This August

The two young geniuses seem like they'd get along great, but will they clash instead?

Two of Marvel's smartest heroes will cross paths this summer when Riri Williams AKA Ironheart heads to Wakanda! Hot on the trail of the Ten Rings, Riri must stop whatever destruction they have planned -- but can she depend on Shuri as an ally? A seemingly perfect meeting of the minds may not go as smoothly as we'd expect, but we'll find out more in IRONHEART #9, written by Eve Ewing with art by Luciano Vecchio, on sale Wednesday, August 14!

Here is the cover by Stefano Caselli, which shows Riri, um, "right at home" with Shuri and the Dora Milaje:

Ironheart #9

So, what will happen when Ironheart and Shuri join forces to thwart the plans of the Ten Rings? Series editor Alanna Smith provided some insight:

“Shuri and Ironheart are two of the biggest brains in the Marvel Universe, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll get along right away. Eve’s done an incredible job of putting these two big, eccentric personalities together in a room and letting them clash as they struggle to get on the same page. Like Riri’s relationship with Miles Morales, it’s not exactly a match made in heaven, and that’s what makes it so fun. I think fans of both characters are going to come away from this arc loving them even more.”

What's certain is that more information will be coming about the story of Midnight's Fire thanks to a new ally to be revealed!
