Someone from Within Has Betrayed the Champions

Will we find the answer in 'Champions' #2? You'll have to read to find out!

There's a mole among the Champions, and the young heroes are bent on finding out who it could be! They may not always agree with each other's methods or strategies, but what would merit this kind of betrayal? This is the story at the center of CHAMPIONS #2, written by Eve Ewing with art by Simone Di Meo and Bob Quinn and on sale Wednesday, November 11.

Here's what Ewing had to say about the latest turn of events for the young Champions:

"It's been so fun seeing everyone's reactions to our issue #1 cliffhanger, especially after such a long wait! Several of our heroes were snatched up at the end, and in CHAMPIONS #2, we'll find out where they went. As is often the case in the Marvel Universe, there are some real-life parallels here, and I hope the issue will prompt a few political conversations, especially between teens, parents, and teachers."

Editor Alanna Smith also added:

“The Champions have been betrayed by one of their own, but they don’t know who turned on them, so tensions are running high! And not everyone agrees with Kamala’s actions in issue #1, which is about to come to a head when the Champions turn to Ironheart for help. The Champions need to form a united front now more than ever, but doing that just got a lot harder!”

When clashing protests over the teen vigilante ban break out across Chicago, the Champions risk their freedom to protect the young protestors from overzealous C.R.A.D.L.E. agents -- but Chicago's own hometown hero, Ironheart, is nowhere to be seen.

Where is Riri Williams? Why has she abandoned the Champions? And could it have anything to do with the mole in their ranks...?
