The 3 Best Costumes in this Week's Marvel Comics

Captain Marvel! Spider-Gwen! Miles Morales!

Marvel Comics' own Emily Newcomen is our fashion columnist, an alumna of the Fashion Institute of Technology, and (like her style icon Mary Jane Watson) an extremely natural redhead.

What’s one thing each of this week’s Marvel Comic’s Best Costumes have in common? They're all unusual looks sported by fan-favorite characters!

Let's start with the hero of the hour...

Captain Marvel - CAPTAIN MARVEL #1

Captain Marvel #1 variant cover by J. Scott Campbell with colors by Sabine Rich

Personally, this old school Ms. Marvel costume is a favorite of mine! While it still features Carol’s signature color scheme and star, she has a super fun tummy cutout and a feathered hair-do. Grooooovy!

Miles Morales - MILES MORALES: SPIDER-MAN #2

When Miles isn’t swinging around Brooklyn, he keeps it casual in a colorful bomber jacket and jeans. On point!

Spider-Gwen - SPIDER-GWEN: GHOST SPIDER #4

Spider-Gwen: Ghost-Spider #4 interior art by Rose Kampe and Takeshi Miyazawa with colors by Ian Herring

Now a complete shift... This Victorian-style Spider-Gwen totally caught my eye. Not something we see every day, but a totally fun and proper spin on our girl Gwencomplete with ample ruffles!
