The Cover of 'History of the Marvel Universe' Is Revealed
The new, definitive history of the Marvel Universe arrives this July!
Last month, Marvel.com gave fans a first look at HISTORY OF THE MARVEL UNIVERSE, a new limited series coming this July that will serve as the definitive guide to how the Marvel Universe began. Written by Mark Waid with art by Javier Rodriguez and Alvaro Lopez, HISTORY OF THE MARVEL UNIVERSE promises to deliver a fresh retelling of Marvel's most classic stories.
Interior art by Rodriguez and Lopez was revealed at the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo, but now we can show you the cover of HISTORY OF THE MARVEL UNIVERSE #1 by Steve McNiven!
Waid told Marvel: "We’ve seen Marvel histories and Marvel encyclopedias and Marvel handbooks, and I love that stuff. I absorb them like Galactus absorbs planets. This is not that. There’s information here, but there’s also a story. The Marvel Universe is a living thing. It is its own story, and we’re trying to approach it with some degree of heart to find the heart in that story so it doesn’t read like 120 pages of Wikipedia.”
With an arc that spans the beginning of time to the twilight of existence, HISTORY OF THE MARVEL UNIVERSE will reveal secrets and shocking revelations while connecting every thread in the entire universe from past to present.
HISTORY OF THE MARVEL UNIVERSE, written by Mark Waid with art by Javier Rodriguez and Alvaro Lopez and a cover by Steve McNiven, arrives in July!
