Welcome to the Age of Revelation, X-Men! We hope you survive the experience.
This October, Jed MacKay and Ryan Stegman usher in a new status quo for the Marvel Universe in X-MEN: AGE OF REVELATION OVERTURE #1. The one-shot sets the stage for a story that will pull the entire X-Men line X years into the future. In this not-so-distant timeline, Doug Ramsey, A.K.A. Revelation, rules the Revelation Territories with an iron fist. However, the Heir of Apocalypse’s idea of a utopia feels dystopic to many mutant factions...
As rebellion brews beneath the surface, a ragtag team of X-Men prepares to strike. Magneto, Cyclops, Beast, Psylocke, and more will have to face off against new foes and old allies as they are thrust into a world different from the one they once knew. The preview for X-MEN: AGE OF REVELATION OVERTURE #1 sees our heroes deliberating the best course of action to resist Revelation’s rule. Meanwhile, the man once known as Wolverine gets ready to strike.
The mutant resistance forms in X-MEN: AGE OF REVELATION OVERTURE #1!

X-MEN: AGE OF REVELATION OVERTURE #1 writer Jed MacKay spoke to AIPT about the creative freedom of exploring alternate realities. “I think what I like most about it is the ‘secret history’ of it all. We catch up with characters who have been changed by 10 years of chaos, and it’s always fun for me to see them as they are now and wonder how they got there,” shared MacKay. “We’ll see a lot of relationships between characters having changed from what we’ve known, and though some blanks will be filled in, others will be left for the readers to speculate upon (and how that could foreshadow the future).”
