X-Men Seminal Moments: Jonathan Hickman and 'Age of Apocalypse'

The legendary writer gives a retrospective look at one of the greatest events in mutant history!

80

Charles Xavier is dead—killed twenty years in the past during a freak time-travel accident—and the world that has arisen is ruled by the mutant despot Apocalypse. But not all mutants agree with Apocalypse's rule, including a group of ragtag freedom fighters led by Xavier's oldest friend, Magneto...

This is AGE OF APOCALYPSE—one of the most influential X-Men crossover events in Marvel history. Directly impacting X-MEN, X-FACTOR, UNCANNY X-MEN, and CABLE, the event blew the world of the merry mutants wide open. The main event ran through BLINK, X-MEN CHRONICLES, X-MEN: ALPHA, GENERATION NEXT, ASTONISHING X-MEN, X-CALIBRE, GAMBIT AND THE X-TERNALS, WEAPON X, AMAZING X-MEN, FACTOR X, X-MAN, X-UNIVERSE, X-MEN: OMEGA, and X-MEN: PRIME. Then, ten years later, the Age of Apocalypse returned with X-MEN: AGE OF APOCALYPSE. In short: it was a phenomenon.

Now, just as superstar writer Jonathan Hickman is set to unleash his own seminal moment in the history of the X-Men with HOUSE OF X and POWERS OF X, he's taking a moment to look back at one of the great events of the past. Watch his take on the series above!
