First Look: 'Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind' Ride Vehicles

The attraction is heading to Walt Disney World's Epcot in 2021!

'Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind'

Last month during D23 Expo 2019's Disney Parks presentation, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Bob Chapek announced one of Disney's most innovative attractions ever, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

In the newly named section of Epcot, World Discover, stories about science, technology and intergalactic adventures come to life.

For the first time ever, World Discover will host an "other-world" showcase pavilion at Epcot with Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. The family-friendly "storytelling coaster" will feature a groundbreaking ride system with vehicles that rotate 360 degrees and can even do a reverse launch (the first reverse launch on a Disney coaster!), further sparking the imagination and experiences of Super Hero fans around the world

Get a closer look at this out-of-this-world ride system below!

As seen above, each individual cab in the attraction’s OmniCoaster ride system will direct your eyes to the story happening around you. Instead of whizzing by the action, the system will fully immerse you in the attraction’s story from the minute you take off.

At Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, the adventure begins in the “Galaxarium,” a planetarium-like exhibition that explores the similarities and mysteries of the formation of Earth’s galaxy and Xandar, a familiar destination for fans of the Guardians. Guests will be invited to learn more about Xandar’s treasures – until the moment when the Guardians of the Galaxy arrive, and adventures across the cosmos begins!

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will open in time for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort in 2021.
