The Universe Keeps Pushing These Cloak and Dagger Black & White Cookies Together

This cookie recipe will complement your Thursday evenings watching 'Marvel's Cloak & Dagger' on Freeform!

If the end of last week's cliffhanger on "Marvel's Cloak & Dagger" has told us anything, we're not going to be ready for this week's episode. You don't have to choose between light or darkness with this "Marvel's Cloak & Dagger"-inspired black and white cookie.

As things intensify with D'Spayre as Tandy and Tyrone head towards the upcoming season finale, make a batch of these cookies as you find yourself on Freeform every Thursday evening!

Cloak and Dagger Black/White Cookies

"Marvel's Cloak & Dagger"-inspired Black/White Cookies

Ingredients:

¾ cup (1 ½ sticks) unsalted butter
1 ½ cups sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 ½ cups cake flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup buttermilk
pinch of salt

Icing Ingredients:

4 cups powdered sugar
4 tbsp boiling water
2 tbsp corn syrup
2 tbsp black cocoa powder

You'll Need:

medium mixing bowl
whisk
electric mixer
#20 disher  (3-½ tablespoons)
silpats or parchment

Directions:

Step One: In a medium bowl whisk together the flour, cake flour, baking powder and salt.

Step Two: In the bowl of an electric mixer, cream the butter and sugar until combined.

Step Three: Add the eggs one at a time, then the vanilla.

Step Four: Alternate the flour mixture with the buttermilk, until just combined.

Step Five: Refrigerate for 15 minutes.

Step Six: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Prep baking sheets with silpats or parchment.

Step Seven: Use a #20 disher (3-½ tablespoons) to scoop balls of dough onto the prepped baking sheets, 2-inches apart.

Step Eight: Bake for 15 minutes. Let cool on a wire rack.

Step Nine: In a bowl, stir together the powdered sugar, boiling water, and corn syrup.

Step Ten: Divide the icing evenly into two bowls. Into one bowl, stir in the black cocoa powder, leave the other icing as is.

Step Eleven: Flip the cookies over (rounded side down) and frost one half of the surface “white” with the vanilla icing, and the other half “black,” using the chocolate icing. Let set.

Step Twelve: Go back in and pipe the opposite color on each side, creating either the cloak or the dagger.

Step Thirteen: When the icing is set, the cookies are ready to serve.
