Marvel Games Comic Connection: The All-New Guardians of the Galaxy
Hello, True Believers, and welcome back to the latest installment of Marvel Games Comic Connection, where we search through the House of Idea’s cavernous Comic Book Vault to spotlight the awesome issues that inspired the creation of the latest and greatest characters and events hitting our mobile, console and VR video games.
This week the stellar v610 update celebrating the all-new Guardians of the Galaxy hits our free-to-play, epic blockbuster action-RPG mobile game MARVEL Future Fight, courtesy of our amazing friends at Netmarble. The star-studded line-up includes new characters Beta Ray Bill, Nova, Darkhawk, Phyla-Vell and Gladiator...plus new suits for Star-Lord, and Punisher as the fearsome Cosmic Ghost Rider! Some of you may be saying, “Wait a minute, when did these characters team with or even join the Guardians and what’s up with these wild suits?” I’m glad you asked, because now we can pull on our helmets, grab our laser guns and zoom off on the most cosmic Marvel Games Comic Connection of all time!

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY (2008)
WAR OF KINGS
REALM OF KINGS
THE THANOS IMPERATIVE
ANNIHILATORS
Rising together to fight the back-to-back invasions, a who’s who of universe’s greatest heroes — including Nova (Richard Rider), the Silver Surfer, Quasar (both Wendell Vaughn and Phyla-Vell), Darkhawk, a new ragtag iteration of the Guardians of the Galaxy and even the beloved canine Cosmo — blasted into action. The cosmic corner of the Marvel Universe flourished into new titles and chaotic crossovers powered by the prolific writing team Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, along with the explosive creativity of a galaxy of talents including Keith Giffen, Sean Chen, Paul Pelletier, Kev Walker, Wellinton Alves, Andrea Di Vito, Brad Walker, Mahmud Asrar, Leonardo Manco, Tan Eng Huat, Timothy Green II, Pablo Raimondi, Alex Maleev, Brandon Peterson, Paul Renaud, Clint Langley and Adi Granov. Full disclosure: Yours Truly was lucky enough to hitch a ride on the “DNA” rocket ship as the humble editor of everything listed above from NOVA onwards, so I may be biased towards how awesome these comics are...but the creators listed above deserve a special shout out for reigniting the careers of Marvel’s star warriors!
THANOS (2016) #13 - #18
Superstar writer Donny Cates explodes upon the scene with a jaw-dropping saga that sees Thanos triumphant, the introduction of the new fan-fave Cosmic Ghost Rider and...you know what, this story is so bonkers awesomesauce you just need to read it right now.

In the aftermath of the Infinity War, the acclaimed creative team of writer Donny Cates and artist Geoff Shaw gathered together another wild roster of sci-fi characters — including Beta Ray Bill, Gladiator, and the vengeance-obsessed Cosmic Ghost Rider — to face the mystery of the death of Thanos.
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY (2020)
Writer Al Ewing and penciler Juann Cabal pick up the creative baton to reform the fan-fave underdogs, mixing up their roster once again and bringing Phyla-Vell and Richard Rider back into the spotlight.
