Toy Fair 2020: Diamond Select Toys, Kotobukiya and More Stun with Their Statue Stylings
Everything we saw on the floor in New York City.
New York Toy Fair 2020 brought all sorts of great collectibles to light in the Big Apple. The show covers everything from dollar store knickknacks to trampolines, but we were most excited to check out all things Marvel!
One of the biggest reveals of the show came from Kotobukiya as the company unveiled their upcoming Carnage Fine Art Statue. This 1:6 scale piece can be displayed by itself, but it also comes with a piece that connects it directly to the already-available Venom piece. Perched atop a crumbling building, Cletus Kasady comes ready to lacerate anyone coming his way!
Additionally, Koto also featured a quartet of ArtFX Premiere pieces featuring some of the Marvel Universe's greatest female characters. The year will see the release of Captain Marvel, Silk, Black Widow and Scarlet Witch all based on the comics.
Sticking with the Spidey-themed statues, Sentinel, had a quartet of stunning vinyl pieces on display — Sofbinal Venom, Spider-Man, and Eddie Brock who comes with two heads, one that's fully Venom, the other where you can see his human face underneath. Meanwhile, the ready-to-pounce Web-Head comes in two different stylings, classic and the black suits.
Finally, Diamond Select Toys dazzled with a small army of statues based on the House of Ideas' stable of characters. The designers perfectly nailed the retro style of classic animated shows like Spider-Man and X-Men with the Marvel Animated busts. At the show, Spider-Man, Mysterio, Sabretooth, Deadpool, Magneto, Gambit, Rogue, Jean Grey, and Wolverine were all on display
Other static offerings from Diamond Select Toys include Agent Venom, Rocket Raccoon, Hellcat, Hulk with the Infinity Gauntlet from Marvel Studios Avengers: Endgame, Bullseye, Hela, Ghost-Spider, 90s Bishop, classic Taskmaster, Nova, Spider-Man dodging pumpkin bombs, Rhino, Logan in his Weapon X brainwashing gear and Storm in her original hero togs.
