All the Times the MCU's Carol Danvers Paid Tribute to the Captain Marvel Comics
See Captain Marvel's looks shine from the comics to the big screen!
Carol Danvers made her debut in Marvel Studios' Captain Marvel back in 2019, showing the universe she's one of the most powerful heroes it had ever seen. She then joined the all crucial fight against the Mad Titan Thanos in Avengers: Endgame.
Carol is not only force within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but in the comic pages as well. In the latest episode of Earth's Mightiest Show, above, we take a look at all of Captain Marvel's looks in the MCU, and how it paid tribute to the comics source material.
At the beginning of Captain Marvel, known only as 'Vers,' Carol Danvers sported her Starforce uniform, which features similar colors to the classic Kree uniform, as worn by the original Captain Marvel in Marvel Comics — Mar-Vell.
The costume Carol Danvers wears in Captain Marvel nods to her comic book design by Jamie McKelvie, with its prominent star of Hala and faux hawk helmet.
In the MCU, these comic design elements are pulled together to create an all-new Kree warrior suit. Vers and the team bring a new tactical edge to the look featuring fingerless gauntlets, weaponry, and armored detail, fit for a team of intergalactic warriors.
a bold new look
When Captain Marvel reconnects with her past, she chooses a new color scheme and a new way to incorporate the character's classic sash, which she sported in more than one iteration of her comic book costume, as a more practical belt in the MCU.
Battle ready armor
As Captain Marvel readies for battle, red and gold detail brings new power to her newly minted body armor.
Next Level: endgame
Carol's suit from Avengers: Endgame takes her look to the next level, with the blue and red swapping places, and shiny metallic gold.
The look is topped off with Carol's cropped hair, which has been seen in more recent CAPTAIN MARVEL comics.
As previously revealed earlier this year, Carol Danvers will return with the untitled Captain Marvel sequel.
