Wield the Captain America Shield with the Disney Movie Insiders Mobile App

Try the new 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier' AR experience now!

DMI

You might not have access to Captain America’s shield in real life, but don’t let that stop you from practicing throwing, catching, and wielding it! A brand new update in the Disney Movie Insiders mobile app lets users step inside the Marvel Universe with the power to carry the shield yourself — virtually, that is. Check out the new Marvel Studios' The Falcon and the Winter Soldier AR experience now!

With the unique augmented reality experience, you can transform your space into an immersive training ground and take aim at targets, channel the power of the shield’s history, and train like Captain America. After scanning your area, the app automatically generates targets in the play area. The more targets you hit (along with accuracy), the more shields unlock featuring different ones spanning the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe. The shields range from the trash can Steve Rogers picked up in the alleyway of Marvel Studios’ Captain America: The First Avenger, to the upgrade seen in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War, and even the latest look featured in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

It’s also one thing to practice with the shield, and it’s another thing to wield it yourself. Another section of the app gives users the ability to snap photos with the shields unlocked in-game to share across social media.
