The Official Trevor Slattery MCU Watch Guide
Trevor Slattery is a true Hollywood story. Look back at the actor’s rise, fall, and return to the limelight with these movies, shows, and more!
Trevor Slattery always dreamed of being an actor, but he never expected his Hollywood ambitions to land him in a prison cell.
ICYMI, the one and only Trevor Slattery, played by Sir Ben Kingsley, is slated to return in Marvel Television’s Wonder Man, an eight-episode streaming event coming to Disney+ on January 27. To prepare for Slattery’s return to the spotlight, let’s rewind the tape on all of his appearances and retrace his scandalous history as an actor in the MCU.

Iron Man 3 (2013)
Trevor Slattery first appeared on Tony Stark’s radar with his breakout role as the Mandarin during the events of Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3. Portraying a terrorist leader for the Ten Rings organization, Slattery’s character took credit for real attacks around the world. When Iron Man and James Rhodes apprehended Slattery, he explained how he was a hired actor who had received riches to play “the Mandarin.”
When pressed for answers, the British actor claimed that he did not think people would get hurt by his performance. The real threat behind this whole scheme? Aldrich Killian, the CEO of Advanced Idea Mechanics and Tony’s corporate rival. While Trevor revealed what he knew about Killian’s plan, the truth did not save him, and he was arrested.

Marvel One-Shot: All Hail the King (2014)
Trevor’s performance as the Mandarin upset many, but perhaps none more than the real Ten Rings organization and its leader, Wenwu. In the Marvel One-Shot: All Hail the King, the British actor served a sentence at Seagate Prison, despite claiming he was framed and merely a paid performer playing a part. Believing he was answering questions for a documentary, Slattery conducted several interviews in jail with Jackson Norris.
While interrogated, Trevor revealed his love of acting began with his mother, who took him to the Royal Court Theatre in London in 1964, where he landed his first role in Shakespeare's The Tempest. Slattery ultimately left England to pursue his dream of acting in the U.S. and was cast as an avenging Russian cop in the pilot, Caged Heat, which the network didn’t pick up—a big break that broke him. However, the interview took an unexpected turn when Trevor ended up taken captive by the real Ten Rings organization as retribution for using their name.

Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings (2021)
Trevor made his triumphant return to the stage in Marvel Studios’ Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings, but perhaps not in the way he expected. Imprisoned by the Ten Rings organization for impersonating their leader, Slattery recited a Macbeth monologue when faced with Wenwu’s execution squad, amusing the Ten Rings. He gained another chance to live by scoring a gig as their weekly entertainer.
During his time as a court jester, Trevor befriended a unique mystical creature called Morris. The actor believed only he could see Morris, but realized that was not the case when he met Wenwu’s grown children, Shang-Chi and Xialing. The siblings sought to escape the Ten Rings compound, and Trevor tagged along for the ride, winding up in the dimension of Ta Lo, where Morris hailed from. In the battle between Ta Lo and the Ten Rings, Trevor continued to lean on his acting skills to survive.

Wonder Man (2026)
So, where is Trevor Slattery now? Rumor has it he’s trying to stage his Hollywood comeback by auditioning for the remake of a cult classic film directed by the legendary filmmaker, Von Kovak. And somehow, he got pulled into the orbit of Simon Williams, a rising star in the making. Watch this story unfold in Marvel Television’s Wonder Man, streaming on Disney+ this January.
